Used in the study of electricity and magnetism. They play a key role in experiments involving electromagnetic induction, the rate of change of magnetic flux through a coil induced voltage and currents, mass of electron, and conservation of energy. These units are ruggedly constructed from carefully wound, heavy enameled copper wire. The ends of the wires are brought out to solid brass binding posts on the rigid end plates. Each size solenoids contains 550 turns of #16 wire, is approximately 15cm in length and can carry 10A intermittently and 5A continuously without overheating. Available in 2 internal diameter sizes.
