The effects of pressure on a volume of gas can be explored using this device. The instrument consists of a 10 ml calibrated plastic syringe with a piston supporting a semi loop metal weight hanger. A three way stopcock and silicone lubricant insure proper functioning of the device. By varying and recording the mass of hook weights used and the actual gas volume changes, a graph can be produced to show the pressure versus volume relationship. Standard laboratory mounting apparatus and a set of hook weights are needed. The kit comes complete with instructions.
