Based on Ampere’s original design with which he investigated the forces between current carrying wires. Allows a number of experiments to be performed that illustrate how the force between wires is effected by current, distance between wires, length of wires, and the interaction between magnetic fields and a current carrying wire. Horizontal configuration and materials of construction make this an exceedingly stable instrument.
