This device demonstrates the diffusion of gases through air. The apparatus consists of two bottles connected with a glass tube. A few drops of hydrochloric acid are placed in one bottle and a few drops of ammonium hydroxide in the other. When the colorless gases from these chemicals diffuse and meet, a white cloud of ammonium chloride forms. Chemicals are not provided.
