Students separate heavy metals (silver, lead and mercury); and are introduced to the use of a chromogenic agent and the determination of Rf (rate-of-flow). This kit provides materials that ordinarily requires hours to prepare, locate and assemble. The kit is complete for 30 students working individually or 60 students if they work in teams of 2 with specially designed hangers, die-cut chromatography strips, solvents and salts.
